American Arcadia is a new horror game set in the future that uses elements of old-school RPG games like Dungeons & Dragons. The developers said they hope to create an atmosphere similar to Mad Max, Stranger Things, and Blade Runner while also paying homage to classic dystopian movies like Solaris and A Clockwork Orange.
Following the success of Call of the Sea, Out of Blue and Raw Fury are reuniting for a new adventure.
Players will be treated to a thrilling blend of 2.5D platforming and first-person puzzles in the upcoming game American Arcadia. You will play two characters, one in a platformer and the other in a puzzle game. Their fortunes and lives may be on separate worlds, but in terms of American Arcadia’s sci-fi plot, they are inextricably linked.
Arcadia, the eponymous city, is a 1970s retro-futuristic metropolis where everyone lives in luxury and comfort. What the residents of Arcadia don’t realize is that they are a part of American Arcadia, a long-running television program that is aired live 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Their carefree existence is linked to their popularity ranking in the eyes of many anonymous onlookers. When you’re a crowd favorite, you have nothing to worry about, but falling out of favor comes with a price: death.
Trevor Hills, an ordinary guy with a dull existence, would be in terrible danger if he didn’t have the assistance of a mystery voice who would lead him through American Arcadia’s backstage to his freedom. Is this all true, or is it simply another show gimmick to boost ratings?
Yuri Lowenthal (Spider-Man, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, Call of the Sea), Krizia Bajos (Cyberpunk 2077, League of Legends), and Cissy Jones (Spider-Man, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, Call of the Sea) are among the great voice actors who contribute to the plot (Firewatch, Life is Strange, Call of the Sea).
During this year’s Tribeca Games Festival, as well as the Summer Games Fest, more details on American Arcadia will be released.
