Among Us in Space Jam 2

It’s true,  the first “Space Jam” movie was great, but we don’t want to dwell on the three-peat. We want to talk about the sequel, “Space Jam 2”, which is being written by the writing team of Scott Silver and Mark Swift, and is being directed by Justin Lin (of the Fast and Furious franchise).

All kidding aside, I’m a big fan of Space Jam 2, so I was thrilled that one of its stars, LeBron James, actually took part in a basketball-related video game that actually came out in the real world. But what we don’t know is whether he is playing in the game or just making an appearance, nor if he even plays basketball anymore…

The first film, released in theatres in 1996, featured Michael Jordan, Bugs Bunny and the Looney Tunes characters of the day—all in a live-action comedy that poked fun at the superhero craze. Twenty-three years later, the sequel promises to be even more offbeat and absurd than the original. Space Jam 2 stars Lebron James, the Cleveland Cavaliers point guard who has become the Miami Heat’s beloved star since he forced his way out of Ohio several years ago, along with Bugs Bunny, the Looney Tunes characters of the day—Daffy Duck, Porky Pig and Marvin the Martian—and a host of others as well.

In recent years, hidden Easter eggs have become a major element of contemporary media, with movies, programs, and games continually making references to themselves and other assets. Some fans believe they have discovered the yellow Among Us figure hiding in the backdrop of LeBron James’ Space Jam 2. Is Among Us going to be in Space Jam 2?

Is There An Easter Egg From Space Jam 2 Among Us?

Yes, there seems to be a Space Jam 2 Among Us Easter Egg in the movie, and it’s very easy to miss. The yellow impostor may be seen shortly after Road Runner in a new video introducing the Toon Squad. The yellow impostor can only be noticed for a fraction of a second since he is hidden in the backdrop. Some observers, however, think it is Penelope Pitstop’s headlamp and that it is just a character from the game.

Warner Bros. has openly crammed the film with Easter Eggs, even releasing a teaser highlighting a few of them. Hidden references to Scooby-Doo, Iron Giant, and King Kong, to name a few, may be found throughout the trailer. It’s still a pretty hilarious coincidence if the Space Jam 2 Among Us Easter Egg turns out to be a headlight. And who knows, maybe there’s a secret figure in a different scenario that hasn’t been discovered yet.

Fans are discovering additional secret video game and pop culture Easter Eggs in the film as more people see it. For example, a young LeBron may be seen on a Game Boy playing the Bugs Bunny-themed Crazy Castle. This is a very clear reference, but there are other allusions to Batman, Mad Max, the Joker, Rick and Morty, and a slew of other characters.
