In the past week, the Guilty Gear community has grown into a force to be reckoned with, but the full weight of that growth only begins to be felt when it comes to the next phase of the game’s development. That’s right, the game is almost ready for its official launch, and we’re proud to announce the June 12th date for the first release of Guilty Gear -Strive-.
“Guilty Gear” is a fighting game series developed by Arc System Works and Arc System Works America. The series consists of various spin-offs, such as Guilty Gear X and Guilty Gear XX (as well as Guilty Gear XX Accent Core and Guilty Gear XX Slash) and is the first fighting game by Arc System Works to be a part of the Street Fighter series.
GUILTY GEAR Xrd -REVELATOR- is the latest installment of the critically-acclaimed fighting game series. It has been in development since 2011, and is being developed by Arc System Works, known best for their critically acclaimed BlazBlue, which has won numerous awards over the years. The game will be released for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 systems, and there will be a newly developed brand new story mode, titled “GUILTY GEAR Xrd -REVELATOR- -Strive-“, a new game mode that will be introduced to the series for the first time.
The Arc System Works team will be in attendance on the 12th. June to hold an event to celebrate the release of their new action game Guilty Gear -Strive-. Hosted by Level Up Productions, the event will run from 4pm to 10pm and will be streamed on the official Arc System Works Twitch channel here. The event will include character exhibitions, public lobbies in North America, and the Team Region Battle Royal, in which players from the United States, Canada, and Mexico will participate. Viewers and participants in the chat can also win great prizes with t-shirt and game codes raffled off during the event. Developed by Daisuke Ishiwatari, Guilty Gear -Strive- once again features the game’s signature dynamic 3D graphics with celestial shadows. Several new gameplay mechanics have been added to the game, including a wall destruction mechanism that will force players to change their strategies.
