This Means Warp is a roguelike space management game that has been developed by Jagex and published for PC. Players take on the role of an intergalactic overlord who must manage their own spaceship fleet, improve its technology and research new planets to colonize while avoiding meteors in this procedurally generated sci-fi universe.

It’s difficult to navigate across space. After all, there are whole disciplines of study devoted to the subject. That doesn’t mean video games can’t make these obstacles a bit more enjoyable, which brings us to This Means Warp, a new game from Jagex’s publishing arm, Jagex Partners, and Outlier Games, which has just released in early access on Steam.
“This Means Warp” is set in a bleak sci-fi future with a cartoon twist, in which the enigmatic Norg have assaulted one of humanity’s outer worlds and unscrupulous mega-corporation GloboCorp has sworn vengeance on the Norg mothership. When their ship’s whole crew is pulled out of the airlock by mistake, players must go on a dangerous trip throughout the galaxy — alone or with up to three pals – engaging in both combat and non-combat encounters.”
This Means Warp, described as a game that takes inspiration from other multiplayer games like Overcooked and FTL, requires teams of players to think tactically and quickly as they tackle procedurally generated space-based problems like hostile ships and asteroid field navigation, while also managing ship systems and repairs, all while focusing on multiplayer and replayability.
The game is now available for anyone who want to try something from Jagex that isn’t RuneScape-related.
